Gillock's Fog at Sea is an excellent first recital piece for the beginning student and is best taught by rote. Note clusters are used throughout with a combination of soft pedal and crescendos resembling “fog.” Students are immediately exposed to the entire range of the keyboard. Highly imaginative.
