In Adiantum Capillus-Veneris I, Chaya Czernowin opens up a filigree labyrinth of sound from the tension of the singing voice's inhalation and exhalation. In her adaptation, Séverine Ballon attempts to transfer this gesture and the resulting timbres to the cello using advanced playing techniques.
