Bongo Beat!

Description: This piece is written in D position, is 40 measures long and in 4/4 time. The melody is in the RH throughout and is written using only quarter, half and whole notes. Purpose: Students can be encouraged to keep their LH accompaniments soft. Their RH needs to be played smoothly while their LH rests. The tempo must remain steady even while hands are alternating. Suggestions for Instruction: The tempo needs to be relaxed, moderate and always steady. Good dynamic contrasts will help create an interesting performance. Key: D minor
